Doug, Less than a year ago when I filled my tank (it takes just a few drops over 10 gals) I could get a tankfull for $10. Last time I got gas - in late Sept.(6.9 gals) - it cost me $20! And yes, it's gone up again - most stations over $3/gal now and some @ $3.50+. I say "amen" to your observation that the prices are quick to go up, but terribly show on coming down! Elgee
PS: I plan to drive down to Big Sur later this month and will check the gas prices there - tourist pricing I call it - because it's traditionally been the highest in the County. The residents have off-beat places on the Monterey Peninsual where they can fill up at prevailing prices(much cheaper pumps).

Doug, I cannot tell you how HUGE a fan I am. I read CHB daily, and hate the weekends when it does not appear in my mailbox. Your talent as a writer and photographer are mind boggling. (God, all this hero worship makes me feel pukey.) Still, you have more talent than any one human being is entitled to. But I am so glad your websites are a part of my daily grind.
