FUBAR

Over the weekend we moved to a new server.

Last night the new server crashed. It’s the third new server we’ve had crash in less than a month.

Not sure what’s going on here but they sure don’t make servers like they used to.

Posts for the last three days have been lost, along with the comments. When I get time to restore them from backup I will but right now I’m more concerned about fixing the hardware glitch.

Sounds like a Windows Server to me ;) My Linux server has been running since 2002 without a problem. Prior to that, my older Linux server was running from 1999 without a problem. I’m sure Windows servers have come a long way since I worked on them, but when things began to run poorly I remember it being very hard to diagnose the problem. I was just at the Boston Webmasterworld Pubcon, and discussing servers for high traffic sites with a bunch of uber geeks like myself. I was amazed at the number of multiple Windows servers people were having to run in order to keep up with traffic. Whereas my site was fairly comparable with theirs with regard to traffic, though I only needed one server to run the whole show.

As a person with knowledge of intelligence matters, I would be somewhat suspicious at this point in your situation.. It seems highly unlikely to have three server failures in a row..
You are on the No Fly List, having earned your status as An Enemy Of The State by operating the
    Capitol Hill Blue Website..

Perhaps the DOD / NSA is using you to test its plans to cut off certain Internet sedition?? Something to keep in mind as a possibility with this
    Administration, which rules
    by Divine Right..
