Jeeps should go in snow, not be covered by it

As snows go, Saturday’s storm was a hit or miss situation. Some areas of Floyd County got about an inch, others got more.

We got 3-4 inches at Chateau Thompson and even that ran in bands. High winds late in the afternoon and early evening caused some drifting.

Sub-freezing temperatures hardened the slush into rock-like ice overnight and slick roads greeting travelers Sunday morning. With temperatures expected in the 40s today, much of the snow will melt and then freeze again overnight before warming temperatures on Monday and rain on Tuesday should melt and wash away whatever remains of the season’s first snow storm.
