Election Day

My voting card read "633" at 9:30 a.m.  Four years ago, I was 212 at the same time. Yep, voter turnout is heavier this year.

A light, misting rain fell outside the Floyd County Rescue Squad Station 1 as party workers tried to hand out propaganda to those entering. I said no thanks. At this point, I don't need any campaign exaggerations to decide my vote. I made that decision some time ago.

At Cafe del Sol about 30 minutes later most of the room full of coffee drinkers sported "I voted" stickers. Those who didn't said they were headed out shortly to vote.

Will Obama carry Virginia? The polls suggest so. Virginia polls close earlier than most so we should know early in the evening.
