Buffaloes fall in opener

For the first half, Floyd County High School’s football Buffaloes played the Carroll County Cavaliers even — going into the break with a 6-6 tie by swapping touchdowns and missing extra points.

But the touchdown score wasn’t enough for the second half as the Cavaliers added 10 more points to none for the Buffaloes, who went home from Hillsville with a 16-6 season defeat and will open at home on Friday, Sept. 6.
