Music and more in Floyd this weekend

Katie and the Bubbatones and The Tune Town Old Time String Band lead music and dancing at The Friday Night Jamboree at the Country Store on Locust Street tonight.

The True Life Travelers start the gospel hour at 6:30 p.m. with Katie and her Bubbatones kicking off at 7:30 p.m. and the Tune Towners at 9.

Time is Art plays at Dogtown Roadhouse and the Sun Music Hall at 8 p.m. Friday.

JD Myers, Virginian who now lives in Nashville, leads off the Americana Afternoon at noon Saturday, followed by Big Mama Joy at 1:15 p.m.

Wildwood Farms General Store is changing its music schedule for this Saturday with the Old Timey Fest starting at 11 a.m.  Monntain Ivy Old Time Band performs from 2-4 p.m.

Spoon Fight is scheduled for Saturday at Dogtown at 8 p.m.

Sunday Music Jam at The Floyd Country Store from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and Open Mic at Dogtown at 7 p.m.  Both events are free.

In sports, the Floyd County High Schools travel to Glenvar for football at 7 p.m. and the boys and cross country teams at at Blackburg for an 8:30 a.m. meet.
