In fact, the contest itself was a match among slam dunk artists on the basketball court, an event at the Chance Harman Classic at Floyd County High School Friday afternoon.

The event followed Radford’s destruction of Blacksburg 61-31 in one of the games of the first day of the two-day classic.

The first day games also saw Faith Christian’s undefeated season go goodbye as Bishop McGuiness of North Carolina won 45-34.  Faith Christian, a parochial private school in Roanoke, went into the Classic with a 10-0 record but scored no points in the first quarter and never made up the difference.

Floyd County’s Buffaloes, the host team, goes against Gate City Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

More photos and Roger Mannon’s story in the next issue of The Floyd Press.
