Sometimes, as a photographer, you focus in on something and realize you should turn your camera away. Some things just should not be photographed.
But what the hell. I’m an old photojournalist. I’ve photographed wars, death, mayhem, politicians, crooks, celebrities and disasters. I can take it, even if the subject is a NASCAR fan knoshing on a footlong corndog, apparently a delicacy at the Martinsville Speedway during race weekend.
Just a guess, but I’d bet the low-carb, low-cal craze has not hit the Martinsville area or at least affected the eating habits of stock car racing fans who flock to the Southside Virginia town on NASCAR weekends.
To steal a line from Fox News (known as Faux News among real journalists), we report, you decide.
