Where's Momma?

Found the bobcat tracks over a month ago. Knew they were in the area. We’d hear their screeching above the house late at night and a neighbor’s dog got chewed to pieces a couple of weeks ago. Spent many mornings staking out the spot but no prey.

Then, Thursday, movement in the grass followed by what easily sounded like a domestic kitten’s meow (only throatier). Then the little one bounded across the log. Had time for just two shots before it dropped out of sight. Waited in vain for momma. Also stayed put for a while because I didn’t want momma thinking I was a threat to her little one.

No momma. Maybe next time.
