Tornado near St. Charles, MO, in 1972

When Amy and I left the St. Louis area and moved to Arlington in 1981 we thought we left threats from tornadoes behind.

Wrong.

An F5 struck nearby Maryland not long after we moved to the National Capitol Region. Others would strike the area during our 23 years there.

We moved to Floyd County in 2004. A couple of years later, a tornado touched down in Franklin County.

Over the last two days, 42 tornadoes touched down in a storm that stretched from the Midwest to the East. Some hit Southside Virginia.

Are these things following us?
