I hear it was a nice weekend

I’m told a nice weekend covered the area. Hope everyone enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my back problem increased to the point where I had to cancel out on covering the district high school football game between Floyd County and Fort Chiswell.

When you can’t walk, you can’t roam the sidelines with cameras to catch football action.

Woke up Saturday to even more pain and extreme weakness in both my legs. Any movement — even eating — sent waves of pain from my hips down to my feet.  Taking prescribed dosages of Percocet (pain medication), Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and ibuprofin (also for pain) dulled the pain slightly but not enough to allow movement.

The doctor wants an MRI on the back.  I just want to get rid of the pain enough to allow work and a chance to eat.

  1. Hmmm…? “Allow work a chance to eat”…!? Sounds almost predatory to me… : ))

I have to compliment you Doug on your colorful expression linked to a catalogued addiction; I.E., “work ethic based addiction” . I can assure you, it’s just an illusion burnt into your psyche since youth, but in a “cosmic” sense means nothing, absolutely…nothing. : )

Take care of yourself and yours first by attending to you malady. I’ve mentioned in earlier posts; don’t delay or mess around with these seemingly serious symptoms. : |

    Good Luck!

    Best wishes,
