I've been invited to a meeting this morning where the Floyd County Board of Supervisors and the county Industrial Development Authority are expected to announce a tenant for the Branwick Center, that cavernous shell building in the under-utilized Industrial Park on Christiansburg Pike just outside Floyd. The tenant, apparently a new business locating in the county, could bring much-needed job opportunities and spare taxpayers the burden of having to buy the $2.2 million structure from developer Robert Smithwick next year. Stay tuned. I'll post something as soon as I have all the news.
